ERICK MARROQUIN!
Erick Marroquin (commonly known as “El Abogado Marroquin”) has many years of experience in immigration law.
He primarily works in deportation defense, family-based immigration, and various humanitarian relief, such as U-Visa and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, among other areas.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from CUNY Queens College in 2009 and his Juris Doctorate from Touro Law School.
While in law school, he was the recipient of the Equality for Immigration Rights award.
He earned the CALI award for the highest grade in his immigration law course.
He established the Touro Chapter of the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project.
Now known as the International Refugee Assistance Project.

Abogado Marroquin was born in Guatemala and immigrated to the United States when he was about 5 years old with his parents.He was raised in Brooklyn and Queens.

He served as a staff writer for the American Bar Association (ABA) Criminal Justice Young Lawyers Committee and his school’s Journal of Race, Gender, and Ethnicity.

While in law school he worked for various non-profit organizations that provide immigration-related services to Latino families in New York, including the Central American Refugee Center (“CARECEN”), the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (“HIAS”) and inMotion (now known as Her Justice).
​
During his second year of law school, he was a summer law clerk for the Newark Immigration Court in New Jersey, working directly with various immigration judges and attorney advisors in legal research and writing.

Throughout his career, he has worked for the immigrant and legal community in education and outreach, organizing immigration workshops at churches and other forums.
He continues to take the fight to the courtrooms and immigration offices. He is admitted to practice law in the Bar of New York.
